Cabo San Lucas is a great location for cut-price fine dining. Because Mexico is affordable, it’s easy to eat high-quality food in classy joints without the need for a hefty budget. Lots of Cabo restaurants offer cosmopolitan eats at affordable prices, and lots of travelers flock to the city to indulge in its excellent upper-class eateries.

If you want classy food at convenient prices, read on—here’s our quick guide to some of our favorite upscale eateries in Cabo San Lucas…!

Mi Casa

For more than 20 years, Mi Casa has been an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking tasty treats in Cabo San Lucas. The food is incredible, but this place is most famous for its bold color scheme, warm welcomes, and infectious atmosphere.

One of the most popular spots in all of Cabo San Lucas, Mi Casa serves up consistently authentic (and consistently massive!) portions of brilliant local comfort food. But in spite of its focus on hearty food and homely ambiance, it’s still incredibly upscale—the food is local, the flavors are well-balanced, and there are various different menus.

Mi Casa even has its own organic farm, where lots of its produce is grown before it makes its way to your mouth.

Sunset Monalisa

If you like the classiest of classy (with a sprinkle of extra class), you’ll love this place. While Mi Casa is lovably garish, Sunset Monalisa is refined, elegant, and ever-so sophisticated. It’s massively popular with couples who like fine food, fine wine, and fine experiences.

Sunset Monalisa offers a variety of tasting menus and a beautiful open-air setting. The restaurant has been featured in many articles, it’s won plenty of awards, and it was once called “one of the top 5 coolest restaurants in the world.”

Set right on the sea, restaurant views don’t get any better than this—it’s like eating on the edge of an infinity pool. For extra privacy, check out the tucked-away beauty of the restaurant’s incredible and intimate ocean terrace.

El Farallon

Inexplicably built right into the rocky cliffs of El Cabo’s alluring shores, El Farallon is beautiful, and it’s a popular choice for romantic nights. The views are incredible, the dimly lit atmosphere is ambient and welcoming, and it’s a great spot for sunset.

The food and wine are great, and it’s all incredibly fresh and varied. The focus here is very firmly on seafood, with a massive range of mega-fresh sea-plucked treats.

Edith’s Restaurant

This place has been owned and managed by the same woman since 1994, and it’s slowly amassed a reputation as one of the best local hangouts in town. The place specializes in hyper-local meals and morsels, serving up delicious portions of Baja cuisine.

Edith’s is set in a colorful garden and is vibrant in every sense of the word. It’s somehow both garish and sophisticated, so you get a fun, brightly-colored atmosphere paired with classy, contemporary food.

Nicksan

For classy but alternative, check out Nicksan, an incredible sushi spot. This is fusion food done right, as delicate sushi is finely balanced with local Mexican flavors. In each bite, textures, tastes and aromas are thoughtfully complemented and beautifully poised.

If you’re a little tired of constant Mexican food (though we’re not sure why you would be!), Nicksan offers an excellent alternative experience. Gourmet and gorgeous, the place offers great food paired with classy, contemporary decor.

Manta

You know those restaurants that are like some sort of thought experiment rather than just a place to eat? This is one of them, but luckily the food is incredible. Big prices, big tastes, and small plates, Manta does incredible multi-course tasting menus, expertly paired with specific wines by the on-site sommelier.
